Dear friends, it looks like that I have to re-arrange all my posts in this blog. Since I’m on and off due to traveling and working, so forgive me, if the story line is going to be back and forth.
This time, I’d like to share a little about my afternoon beach walk in Tanjung Benoa, Bali.
We were invited for beach dinner and it was lovely. Taman Bhagawan management were very friendly and lovely people. Really nice to meet them. And we’re really thankful that we were invited.

This shrimps canape is awesome. Well, maybe because I love seafood also. So yes, I like it a lot. The marinated shrimps on chopped avocado and crunchy chips, all were mixed in my mouth nicely. Well done!
And this one is Jamu. Javanese traditional drinks. Taman Bhagawan offered me many Jamu options, but I chose this one. A mix of Tamarind and Turmeric, which I love so much! Women, it’s good for your health inside out.
This one I also really liked. I forgot the name. Sorry. But I like it, because it has something sour and mixed with the taste of raw tuna. I thought so. Taste fresh.
This one, unfortunately, I didn’t taste it, because all were off. My colleagues finished it I took a photo of it. Lol. Next time I’ll come again.
The table setting is simple and pretty. Perfect for garden party. Either lunch or dinner. Just perfect.
And, save room for dessert seems didn’t worked well for me. I was already really full with canapes and seafood Italian pizza. Though, all these 3 desserts were tasty. The white one at the back is a mixed of coconut with mango, in front was Creme Brulee of pumpkin and strawberry, which is a prefect mix, so you won’t get bored with sweetness of dessert. And, the last one is chocolate cake, which was nice, because it wasn’t sweet. Many dark chocolate in it.
I think that I really need a holiday soon….
I’ve never been so stressful at work like this. Try to cope, but it seems I have to encourage myself even more and more everyday, which I don’t think that I can’t. It’s just that I hope for sometimes to relax. Not being so „workaholic“ almost 24 x 7. Stay away from anything related to work.
But for a start a slice of Starbucks Velvet Cake would lighten up my rainy Sunday feeling.
A couple weeks ago my colleague and me had dinner instead of near our office, we went to a small restaurant in Sanur,. For those, who has ever been hopping around from one restaurant to other in that area, then should know this restaurant, named Warung Santai.
As far as I can remember, I only eat twice in that restaurant. Even though it’s located quite close to my flat, I didn’t go that often, because I just don’t like what they served and also quite pricey.
BUT, this time I have to admit that what I’ve ordered, was awesome to me. Well, more … surprise me.
On the menu it mentioned Cheese and Mushroom Sandwich. But, because the cheese was melted on the bread and mushroom, I called it cheesed mushroom sandwich.
This is my second menu for Sunday evening. I just cooked it based on what my mom used to cooked. But, I didn’t fry the ingredients. Everything just boiled.
- Bean sprouts.
- Snow peas.
- Coconut milk.
How to cook:
- Slice the onion, garlic, chilies, tomato and carrots.
- Boiled all in 1 liter water and add salt and pepper with 1 cm peeled-fresh ginger.
- Then add coconut milk but not too much. For me, I don’t want it to be too milky either. 😀 Keep it lite!
- Cook with low heat for 10 minutes and then add the snow peas and bean sprouts. Never over-cook fresh vegetables! 😀
- Vegetable in coconut milk is ready to served.
- Suggested to served while it’s still warm. Especially in Autumn or Winter weather.

Long time no cooking in my kitchen. I want to cook again for lunch and dinner, but it seems my work doesn’t allow me that much. Limited only during weekend or holiday. But I won’t let my cooking spirit gone away just like that. #lol
Yesterday evening I tested a recipe from Taste Made group, which I found as a very interesting cooking page in Facebook and it worked very well. I added cilantro and cumin powder to make it different and more me. And yes, this is my favorite stir fried noodle of all time. In Indonesia we call it kwe tiauw noodle and also in my hometown, which we’re yes influenced by Chinese. Noodles, yeah, I can accept it. Their other culinary? Still makes me … not wanting to eat or taste it. Different tongue. That’s all.
Stir Fried Beef & Snow Peas with Flat Rice Noodles
400g fresh banh pho (ho fun) or Kwe Tiauw noodles (if using dry, re hydrate the noodles first)
200g sirloin steak (or rump), cut into 5mm thick slices
120g snow peas
1 clove garlic, sliced
1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
4 tbs oyster sauce
4 tbs soy sauce
pinch of pepper
splash of water
80g bean sprouts
Separate the fresh noodles. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan or wok until very hot then fry the steak, peas, 2 tbs of oyster sauce, 2 tbs soy sauce, a splash of water, pinch of pepper and garlic for a couple of minutes or until the steak is cooked as you like it. Then take off the heat and leave on a plate to rest.
Heat the frying pan or wok to a high heat again with a dash of oil, add onions, stirring quickly then add the noodles, 2 tbs of oyster sauce and 2 tbs of soy sauce. Stir well for a couple of minutes and add beansprouts and a dash of water to steam the beansprouts. Stir fry for a further minute and pour onto a serving plate. Add the beef and sugar peas to the noodles and serve.
